The oldest parts of Castle Rabenstein have been built in the last quarter of the 12th century.
During the Thirty Years War the castle has been destroyed and rebuilt. Today it is used as a congress center and hotel.

Rebdorf Monastery, first mentioned in 1055, was well-known for its medieval manuscripts and glass pictures. In 1800 the famous library was plundered by the French General Joba. Today the books and pictures are dispersed all over the world.
