The Chinese House in the garden of Sanssouci in Potsdam was commissioned by Frederich the Great of Prussia to beautify his garden ensemble. The European Royal Houses became interested in east-asiatic arts and trades since the Dutchman started their overseas trade with China in the 17th century.

The ruins of Drachenfels (Dragons Rock) Castle is the famous landmark of the Siebengebirge. Siegfried, the hero of the German legend ''Nibelungenlied'' killed the dragon living in a cave, took a bath in the dragons blood and became invulnerable.

Hundisburg Castle was first mentioned in 1140. In the Middle Ages it was the frontier post of the archbishop of Magdeburg.
In the 16th century it was reconstructed to a
Renaissance castle. Today it is the most important
Baroque Castle of Saxony-Anhalt.
