Pillnitz Palace was designed in English Garden style in 1780. The botanical highlight is the flowerage of
the camellias, which where imported from Japan in 1770.

The baroque Frauenkirche (engl. Church of Our Lady) replaced an old church from the 11th century in 1722 . Its cupola
became famous as the ''Steinerne Glocke'' (engl. stony bell). It dominates the skyline of the historic Dresden. In 1945 the Frauenkirche was
completely destroyed and rebuild with donations a few years ago.

The former congress center, called ''Pregnant Oyster'' by the Berliners, today harbours the House of the Culture of Nations. It was built in 1975 as a contribution of the United States to the international exhibition of architecture. In 1980
the front wall crashed in an accident. The hall
was rebuilt despite many discussions around it.
