The oldest parts of Castle Rabenstein have been built in the last quarter of the 12th century.
During the Thirty Years War the castle has been destroyed and rebuilt. Today it is used as a congress center and hotel.

The construction of the Freiburg Minster started around 1200, shortly after the town established as free market place. It was strategically located on a junction of trade routes between the Mediterranean and the North Sea, the Rhine and the Danube Rivers.

Prince Albrecht of Prussia had to exil Prussia because of his non adequate marriage.
He chose a country estate in the vintages - Albrechtsberg Palace. He reconstructed the estate
to a late classicistic palace.
