48 Aerial photos Castle: Rabenstein castle Castle     The oldest parts of Castle Rabenstein have been built in the last quarter of the 12th century. During the Thirty Years War the castle has been destroyed and rebuilt. Today it is used as a congress center and hotel. Martin Luther hided here after his excommunication under the name Junker Jörg. In a small chamber he translated the Bible into German. Also the German poet Goethe often was at guest on the Wartburg. In 1999 the Wartburg was declared to be an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
