23 Aerial photos Church: Church St. Nikolai Church     Church St. Nikolai at Alter Markt is the most significant building in Potsdam. Its cupola can be seen from all directions. After the old church burned down in 1795 this new church was built in 1830 after plans of Karl Friedich Schinkel. Church of Our Lady) replaced an old church from the 11th century in 1722 . Its cupola became famous as the ''Steinerne Glocke'' (engl. stony bell). It dominates the skyline of the historic Dresden. In 1945 the Frauenkirche was completely destroyed and rebuild with donations a few years ago.
