Here at Falkenstein (engl. falcony stone) the history of free climbing began. The first rules for rock climbing have been established at the beginning of the 20th century - the so called Saxon Rules.

The Jungfraujoch, ''Top of Europe'', is a saddle between Mount Mönch and Mount Jungfrau. It is the
watershed of Europe and attraction for millions
of visitors every year. With the highest railway of
the world, the ''Jungfraubahn'', the Jungfraujoch can be easily climbed. On top the ice palace within the glacier can be visited.

The Cycladic Island of Syros is located 78 nm South-East of Athens. In Byzantine times it became part of the Aegean Empire. Later is was ruled by the Venetians. Notwithstanding their changing rulers the inhabitants of Syros never gave up their Greek language.
