Prince Albrecht of Prussia had to exil Prussia because of his non adequate marriage.
He chose a country estate in the vintages - Albrechtsberg Palace. He reconstructed the estate
to a late classicistic palace.

After the detection of silver in the Ore Mountains
the region came to importance for the Margraviate of Meissen and the Kingdom of Bohemia. Frauenstein Castle was built to fortify the region. The castle was destroyed by fire in 1728.
