The New Palace (original: Neues Palais) was built
for representation purposes under Frederick the Great in the Park of Sanssouci. Frederick himself
was almost never here. Later Wilhelm II, the last
german emporer, has elected it as his most favourite
residence.

The historical city center is surrounded by a medieval town wall. In the city center is the Church St. Nikolai from the 14th century.

in 1544. The Swedes left the battlefield in victory.
