According to the legend Wartburg Castle was founded
in 1067. Martin Luther hided here after his excommunication under the name Junker Jörg. In a small chamber he translated the Bible into German. Also the German poet Goethe often was at guest on the Wartburg. In 1999 the Wartburg was declared to be
an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Russian colony Alexandrowka is located in the North of Potsdam. It was built by King Frederick Wilhelm II of Prussia for a group of Russian immigrants

Belvedere was the last building Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, commissioned for Sanssouci. From here the visitors can enjoy the overview over the garden ensemble of Sanssouci. The Dragon House was built as accommodation for the royal vintner who was responsible for the wineyards of Sanssouci.
