Der Westflügel des Schlosses von Blois wurde zwischen 1635 und 1638 von Gaston d´Orlean errichtet. Gaston, der Bruder von Louis XVIII, musste hierher wegen seiner andauernden Intrigen gegen den König, ins Exil gehen.
