West of the main palace of Sanssouci is the picture gallery and in the East the Old Orangery. The Orangery was rebuilt as residential rooms in 1771/1774.

The New Palace (original: Neues Palais) was built
for representation purposes under Frederick the Great in the Park of Sanssouci. Frederick himself
was almost never here. Later Wilhelm II, the last
german emporer, has elected it as his most favourite
residence.

The 3 Dornburg Castles were built in different epochs. The ''Old Castle'' dates back to the Royal Estate of Otto I and was first mentioned in 937. The rococo palace and the renaissance palace are nicely framed by the Palace Gardens
